"Downy Woodpecker - three"
Ridgewood, New Jersey
This male downy is a regular visitor to
our feeders and he often sits on the cherry tree branch shown
here. The time is spring with the cherry blossoms about to
bloom. Other pictures in the same position have been made in
summer, fall, and winter, with the background correspondingly different
in each. In suburban areas this bird can be very destructive of wood
siding and has become quite a nuisance. Shot in Velvia film at ISO 50 with a 600mm lens at f-5.6 and
1/200sec with fill flash at -1.0.
Available in all sizes up to 16x20.
Edition limit is 40 prints 8x10 and
larger
